SAFEGUARDING

SAFEGUARDING
& CHILD PROTECTION

The wellbeing, safety and happiness of every student underpins all that we do. Students who feel safe, supported and listened to are more confident, emotionally secure and better able to thrive, both academically and personally. Creating an environment of trust, care and mutual respect is fundamental to an authentic St Paul’s Girls’ School education.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, including teaching and non-teaching staff, governors, parents and visitors. Clear policies, robust procedures and a strong pastoral framework ensure that concerns are identified early and addressed promptly and sensitively.

Safeguarding Leadership

Safeguarding at SPGS International School Bangkok is led by trained Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), who oversee all safeguarding and child protection procedures within the school. They ensure that any concerns about a student’s welfare are handled appropriately, sensitively and without delay.

Our safeguarding team works closely with school leadership and relevant professionals where necessary to ensure that the wellbeing of every student remains the highest priority.

Pastoral Care and Student Support

A strong pastoral culture sits at the heart of the school. Students are known as individuals and are encouraged to speak openly with trusted adults whenever they have questions or concerns.

By creating an environment where students feel listened to, respected and supported, we ensure that children develop the confidence to share concerns and seek guidance when they need it.

Teaching Students to Stay Safe

Through a carefully planned curriculum and pastoral programme, students are taught the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to keep themselves safe.

This includes learning about personal safety, online responsibility and digital awareness, as well as developing the understanding and confidence to build positive and respectful relationships.

Safer Recruitment and Staff Training

All staff at SPGS International School Bangkok undergo rigorous safer recruitment procedures. This includes thorough background checks, reference verification and safeguarding screening in line with international best practice.

Safeguarding training is provided to all staff on a regular basis to ensure that they remain alert to potential concerns and understand their responsibilities in protecting students.

A Culture of Safeguarding

At SPGS International School Bangkok, safeguarding is not simply a set of procedures but a culture that underpins daily school life. By working together as a community, staff, students and families help to create a safe environment in which every child feels known, valued and protected.
